An explosion of strings....
I was scheduled to teach a Spider Web class on Saturday (with Bonnie's permission, of course). I only had one student signed up, so I begged Diane and Sue to come on in and take the class too. Funny thing is, the paying student didn't show up! So, we basically made a giant mess and had a great time sewing together.
So, can any one explain why there appears to be more strings in the bucket after making 9 blocks than there was before we started?

I'm convinced scraps get together and breed. You think you recongnize all of the fabrics, but they are really mutations of the original strings and no matter how many you use, the seem to multiply. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Well, the paying customer doesn't know what she missed! Great blocks and great fun by the looks of the table :-)
Oh boy - I wish I could come and play with you with your scraps! Why do other people's scraps look better than mine? And a string spider web? can't wait to get on to THAT project!
Those are nice blocks - I like the pink centers. It looks like a lot of fun.

Of course I can explain it! Your strips and strings do the same thing mine do. In the dead of night in the dark of my sewing room my strings are having wild parties and end in a giant orgy. And since their reproductive time is similar to that of Tribbles (which you'll understand if you are an original Star Trek fan) by morning there are at least twice as many strings as there were the night before.
At least I know that's what happens at my house. There is absolutely no other explanation!
Looks like you were having a blast! Nice blocks! And yes, I have experienced the phenomenon of scraps multiplying while I wasn't looking, although I've never heard such a graphic description as Patti just gave. Too funny!!
Ohhh, that looks like mountains of fun, wish I could have been there too!

HOLY SCRAPS!!! Looks like you had a great time!
If you figure out how they multiply let me know - no matter how many string quilts I get done - my string bins are still growing.
Oh honey - you need a much, much, much bigger string bucket than that - those things multiply like crazy no matter how fast you use them! Love the blocks you guys are working on - and do I spy a jumbo spool of thread on one of those sewing machines? I love that thread too!
