The Flood

Just curious....is the massive flooding of North Texas making the national news? People are drowning and thousands of homes have been destroyed.

More rain is coming. Please pray for those who are suffering.

I'm a news junky and only remember hearing a brief mention of flooding in TX. Here in CA the big story (besides Paris Hilton, of course...hmmph) is the Lake Tahoe fire which has burned over 200 homes.

The UK has floods of its own at the moment and we have more rain forecast for the weekend too. My husband was trapped at work on Monday night when a river burst its banks, he couldn't sleep for the noise of the three air sea rescue helicopters winching people from nearby roofs. I guess it's a different weather system Susan but the devastation is the same.

Yes, in the Washington Post, they even mentioned the rinkydink county in which I used to live... Lampasas.

It has certainly been brought to attention on The Weather Channel. Haven't had CNN on in ages, so I don't know about that, but I keep all of my TX friends close in prayer...there doesn't look to be any relief from the rain for you any time soon. I wish we could have some of your rain, and you, some of our dry.
Angie in hot, extremely dry TN

Yes, on every channel, including the weather channel. So terrible! And here in western Nebraska, it is dry, dry, dry.

I hope that you all are o.k. I will keep Texas in my prayers. Here in southeastern Idaho, we are also way to hot and dry.

Yes, it's on the news and there was a story in the paper this morning. Take care of yourselves.
