Welcome to Texas!
There's an old adage in Texas - "If you don't like the weather here, just wait 24 hours.".
How true. It was 74 degrees on Sunday afternoon. Severe thunderstorms Sunday night with flash flood warnings. Snow began Monday night and we woke up to 5-1/2" of snow on Tuesday morning! Afternoon temperatures are expected to be 67. I would call that a pretty exreme 48-hour swing!
Here's Audrey stomping around in the snow with her ruler. And this was before 7am. She's normally not very concious at that time in the morning - but hey, there's snow!
Here's a view of our house from the front - it's hard to tell where the sidewalk and flowerbeds begin and end.
I took this shot of the house across the street. That majestic old oak tree is just stunning.
The funny thing? Dallas (25 miles south) has virtually no snow. It's kind of weird watching the "local" traffic and weather..... I guess we'll enjoy our 2-hour delay for school and maybe even go out for breakfast.

How weird to see snow pictures from Texas?? Great photos.
I live about 15 miles to the East between Princeton & Farmersville & we got a lite dusting. Go figure.
Very pretty pictures. Looks like home! (smile.. I'm in MN)
Here in Arlington, we just got about an inch. Weird, huh? Everything is bloomed out, too.
That is my kind of snow...you get to see it fall (pretty,) take some photos (fun,) but it melts before it gets dirty and yucky ( a technical New Englander term for black, sand covered snowbanks that were built in January and still there in March...)

It sure looks cold. had to laugh at your post about cutting scraps. I'd rather be sewing too.
You know -- we have a similar saying about the weather in Illinois, we just have a shorter time frame (usually something like an hour -- since the shifts happen that quickly most of the time, unless the weather stinks). Hope you enjoyed the brief snow :0).
